How to Convert a Fraction to a Percent

Converting a fraction to a percent takes two steps:

1	Convert the fractions to a decimal.
2	Convert the decimal to a percent.

If the denominator is 10 or 100, then it's a snap!

Weird, huh?

So, what happens when you can't make the denominator a pretty power of 10?

Well, we just use long division and do a little rounding.  Let's just make our answers go to one decimal point.

How to Convert a Decimal to a Percent

We just do the same thing as in the last lesson... only backwards!

To convert a decimal to a percent:

1	Convert the decimal to a fraction (using the place value information).
2	Convert the fraction to a percent.

I'm going to do both steps in one line...

Hey, there's only one decimal place on this guy!
No problem.  Just stick a zero on the end and go for it.
